Elmer Lee Acuff - age 85, of Knoxville, [TN] passed away Sunday, December 6, 2009.
Retired from Metler's Trucking Co. Preceded in death by parents, Martha and Alexander Acuff; wife, Janet Cooper Acuff; brothers, Jimmy, Emil, Raymond, Clifton, William and Alec, Jr. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Carol Acuff of Export, PA; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Lawrence Adkins, Jr. of Jonesboro, Georgia; grandchildren, Chris Adkins of Aurora, Colorado, Russell Adkins of Locust Grove, Georgia; great-granddaughter, Jordan Nicole Adkins of Jonesboro, Georgia; brothers-in-law, Sam Cooper and wife Ruth of Memphis, Marion Simpson of Kentucky; sisters-in-law, Joan Acuff of Canton, Ohio, Lillian Pickens and husband Bud, Grace Cooper, Mildred Braden and husband Fred, Nancy Cooper, Faye Cooper and John Gentry all of Knoxville; special sister-in-law and loving caregiver, Edna Sue Dawn. Several nieces and nephews. Thanks to all the staff at Heritage Assisted Living and Amedisys Hospice Services. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 pm Tuesday at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel.
